Tavian was born in Colorado in 1848, and would’ve been 17 years old in 1865 when they came to this valley to live. Both Chief Tabby and Tavian lived to be well over 100 years old. In fact, Martha “Tavian” Lincoln was considered a “super centennial”at 116 years old when she died of pneumonia on September 26, 1964, at the Stewart’s Nursing Home in Roosevelt. For about 7 years she was considered the oldest person in the world. So little is known about her and her life, but I imagine that she spent time here, in my back yard on Chief Tabby’s farm.
